As a contemporary classicist with roots in the fine arts, I seek to explore the middle ground between the classics and modernity, where there is harmony, boldness, and a bit of an edge.

In the process of training my eye and building my style, I pondered the scarcity of good art and concluded that an important reason for this is that it inherently requires taking risks. In the design world, risks can become pathways to success, as the combination of inherent skill and a trained eye leads to a sprint from the ordinary. The moments of success in good design are rooted in the decision to challenge yourself and step away from the temptation of the commonplace.

The design world is dynamic and competitive. The essence of the designer's task is to find a way to stand out; but with risk comes failure. A good designer is set apart, therefore, by her determination to let her failures guide her ambition, and not merely her successes. In this way, she finds her risks transformed into creative triumphs.

I obtain a new perspective through creative leaps that thrill and exhilarate. With each leap, I find myself further removed from the ordinary. And this, I believe, is a sure pathway to becoming a great designer.
